Decks For Change

Decks for Change is a skateboard deck design competition aimed at creating awareness of important issues to inspire positive change in the world and give well-deserved exposure to local artists, illustrators and graphic designers.
The travelling exhibition stops briefly in Canberra, where the top 21 designs from the Decks for Change competition will be exhibited and up for auction with all proceeds go to Skateistan.

SKATEISTAN is a non-profit organisation using skateboarding as a tool for empowerment. Skateistan began as a grassroots 'Sport for Development' project on the streets of Kabul in 2007, and is now an award-winning, international NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) with projects in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. Skateistan is the first international development initiative to combine skateboarding with educational outcomes. Skateistan is non-political, independent, and inclusive of all ethnicities, religions and social backgrounds.
